FAQ's for Weight Management

I have a problem I want to share with you, maybe you can help. I am 1.65m and weight 111.5 pds. I'm told body fat is 6%. I know this sounds like a really good body but here starts the problem: 2 years ago I started a diet with the 2nd best doctor in all Mexico, what I wanted to do is reduce my measurements (my waist is 63cm and each of my upper legs is 58 cm of diameter). I stayed in his diet of 14 months and didn't get any results, he recommended a liposuction, which I personally don't like that much. I went to a different doctor and I'm still with her but without any results. I know I can do better because 3 years ago my waist measured 57cms. and each of my upper legs 52 cm. Do you have any possible solution (besides liposuction), please HELP!

Our Answer

Exercise research shows that reduction of cm or inches is best achieved through weight training and toning the muscles. With the measurements you told me your body fat is probably not 6%, that is as low as or lower than many "male" fitness competitors, most females even on an extremely strict program can not get that low.

The only way to get rid of excess fat is to have it burned in the mitochondria of muscle cells (energy furnaces). Dieting and calorie restriction is a effort to force the body to use fat in the muscles instead of daily intake calories. But often the body cannibalizes it's own muscle tissue as well as fat leaving you with "lower" muscle tissue, which means "fewer fat burning furnaces." A combination of diet and exercise over a period of 3 to 6 months will give you a steady gain in muscle (increase in fat burning furnaces) and will gradually burn up excess storage from various areas of your body. Remember though, that your worst problem area is where your body specifically likes to store, and it will be the last place to show signs of reduction because it will be the last place the body unlocks and removes storage from. So, be patient, be consistent (3-5 workouts a week) and good luck.

P.S. If you have not exercised for a long time you should possibly consider having your Physical Health checked by a doctor if you have any concerns.

I do not want to have to take a large group of different things because I know I won't take them at all. Could you advise me. I am overweight and have medal poisoning. I had breast implants removed and my doctor told me that my implants had ruptured and had platinum residue. Mine where put in the early 70's and at that time platinum was used to clean the silicone. When I looked at the large number of products that you had I was overwhelmed with the choices. Please advice me on the least amount I can get away with to start with.

Our Answer

In consideration of the platinum residue, it would be best to start with a gradual detoxification program.

In the late 1980's an interesting experiment was conducted with regard to high levels of potentially toxic inorganic minerals in the body and the ability of their organic bio-electrical counterparts to naturally chelate or safely remove toxic inorganics. The study involved individuals with a variety of so-called heavy metal poisonings. The study was conducted by Gary Price Todd, M.D., and author of the book Nutrition, Health & Disease. The end result was that over a three to eight month period the poisoning metal levels were decreased 80 to 90% and after sixteen months they were almost nonexistent.

As a gradual start up we recommend you take 1/2 ounce (1 Tablespoon) Mineral Toddy in the morning and evening because it is a source of "organic" bio-electrical trace minerals; increasing up to 1 ounce over a 3 week period depending on your body's acceptance of the program. Also, 1 ounce (2 Tablespoons) of Total Toddy and 2 EFA gel caps will provide complete coverage of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, and essential fatty acids. (NOTE: after 4 to 5 months you could drop off the Mineral Toddy, but for maintaining a strong immune system, we recommend you stick with a continuing complete nutrition program for a healthy body).

In addition, depending on your budget and health goals, you could add our metabolic accelerator capsules (90 caps -- take 1 capsule 3 times a day) as a safe metabolic rate booster (which increases the body's fat burning activity). Hope this helps in your product usage decision. We are currently trying to simplify our product offering so that kits, or a small number of products are presented in association with an area of health concern instead of just having them all on one page. I agree, it is somewhat confusing. Thanks for taking time to ask for help. Please call us at 1-800-943-1123 if you have further questions or if you want to place an order.

Metabolite (not Metabolife) was recommended by a friend when I said I wanted to lose 8 lbs. From my basic research, it looks good in terms of its Chromium levels (75 mcg) magnesium (75 mg) Vitamin E 6 IU (low, I realize). I am a 40 year old female in excellent health who is 5'6" and weighs 140 lbs. What is your professional opinion on the product? Thanks in advance.

Our Answer

Chromium helps maintain stable glucose/insulin levels and 75 mcg is okay as a side supplement (if you are taking additional chromium in a multi-nutrition program) but inadequate if that is all the chromium you are getting each day.

Does Metabolite have any other ingredients? And what is the monthly cost (i.e. price per bottle, number of capsules, capsules you take each day). I don't think you will be getting your money's worth of weight loss nutrients if what you told me is all that Metabolite provides.

Other key ingredients to look for in a weight loss enhancing product are:

  • Garcinia Cambogia--a natural appetite suppressor and also increases metabolic fat burning.

  • L-Carnitine--The amino acid that helps escort fat from adipose tissue to be used as fuel for muscle cells; which would assure optimal fat burning opportunity for the body.

  • Chromium--Daily intake should be at least 200 to 400 mcg, 75 mcg per day would be quite low.

  • Alpha Keto-Glutaric Acid -- Increases Basal Metabolic Rate and helps the body retain muscle (Muscle is the fat burning furnace of the body, quite important that it be maintained)

  • Choline, Inositol, and Methionine -- Three main constituents of the Lipotropic group of nutrients, they assist the liver in the conversion of fats to energy. This encourages the body to burn fat for fuel instead of burning glucose, thereby mobilizing brown fat stores in the cells.

  • Guarana -- An herb known for its ability to increase overall metabolism, also increases energy and enhances the efficiency of calorie burning.

Click here for information on our Slim/Slim Metabolic Accelerator caps (We no longer carry this product but we do carry a new line of weight loss products. For information on these products click here.) I'm sure you will notice that the chromium in the Slim/Slim caps is only 25 mcg, but that's because it is designed to be used in coordination with full-coverage supplementation like Ultra Body Toddy (you'll see that it contains 200 mcg). Thanks for your confidence in us as providers of top notch information. We hope you'll consider our product offering.
